Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the 30th film in the MCU ( Marvel Cinematic Universe ); it is also the sequel to the 2018 film Black Panther . The film was made due to the success of the predecessor, but due to the death of actor Chadwick Boseman who played the lead role in the film Black Panther , the film script was rewritten. His character T'Challa, Black Panther's alter ego, did not return in the film.
